5 ways axiUm can help your dental organization manage the spread of COVID-19

It is during challenging times like these, that the power of great healthcare experiences is needed most of all. We are taking active measures to make sure axiUm assists our clients in providing safe and secure user-experiences and patient care. Our Custom Services support team has created two solutions that allow axiUm to assist with the COVID-19 screening process and improve communication throughout your dental institution. These solutions are available, free of charge, on the axiUm Community Portal (user login required). For those that require additional measures, our support team is ready to offer guidance for your specific needs.

Here are five ways these solutions can help your dental organization:

1. Identify and monitor sick patients before they arrive

With the help of Intiveo, axiUm will send a text message to a scheduled patient informing them of the clinic’s policy during the COVID-19 pandemic and encouraging them to report their health status to the school before their appointment.

2. Screen patients & remind providers upon arrival and departure

axiUm will remind dental providers of any pertinent information at the beginning of an appointment, to facilitate adequate patient screening upon arrival. It also reminds dental providers to collect personal contact information from patients at departure. This helps to streamline notices of future, suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases related to the dental school.

3. Share COVID-19 information with staff

axiUm’s Interventions functionality can be used to alert staff at different times during a patient visit, to ensure critical information is communicated effectively and efficiently.

4. Collaborate across the axiUm community on best practices

Our number one priority is the health and safety of all members of our community. We are monitoring the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) closely and are following the lead of public health authorities including the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Many dental education organizations have already implemented initiatives to respond to COVID-19 cases in their areas. axiUm community members can follow the latest updates on our COVID-19 response and connect with other organizations on the axiUm Community Portal (user login required).

5. Effectively identify & report on COVID-19 cases

Use axiUm’s robust reporting tools to track, monitor and follow up with patients who have yet to be identified or screened.
