Connect to a Nationwide Interoperability Framework

Gain access to patient information to make the best care decisions possible

Coming soon! Available in version 7.10 of axiUm.

Dental organizations are looking for interoperability solutions to improve the quality of patient care. Interoperability creates seamless data exchange among a patient’s physician, hospital, labs, pharmacies, and others along the continuum of care.

Henry Schein One l Exan is excited to offer a new solution – integrated with axiUm – that addresses this need for healthcare interoperability. The solution is Carequality, an interoperability framework that is changing health data exchange in the US by enabling access to a wide range of health exchange networks. Even more exciting is that Carequality will be available in the next release of axiUm version 7.10.

What is Carequality?

Carequality is a public-private initiative that enables widespread, operational connectivity between and among existing health IT data exchange programs and platforms. It provides a national-level, consensus-built common interoperability framework. Over 300 million documents are exchanged each month with Carequality.

It comprises a diverse group of representatives, including electronic health record (EHR) vendors, record locator service (RLS) providers and other types of existing networks from the private sector and government, to determine technical and policy agreements to enable data to flow between and among networks, platforms, and geographies.

The Benefits of Carequality

Carequality brings together the entire healthcare industry by providing a national-level, consensus-built, common interoperability framework to enable exchange between and among health data sharing networks.

The benefits are:

  • Offers a more comprehensive patient profile, by accessing complete histories of what happened when patients visited other healthcare providers.
  • Provides accelerated, less costly health data sharing agreements, eliminating the need for one-off legal agreements between individual data sharing partners.
  • Eliminates the need to integrate directly with a particular medical institution.
